Hi Tom,  I'm not familiar with that particular movie.  However, during 
my youth the local John Deere dealer along with the national marketing 
people would sponsor "John Deere Days"--it was a big deal in a small 
town.  Of course all the new equipment, was shown but there was a county 
fair/carnival atmosphere and normally they did show a movie at the local 
theatre.  I would be that it was made for that event.
