John

At the risk of the wrath of the "professional" purists and rivet counters,
since the difference in diameter between 40" and 42" wheels in S scale is
1/32", can anyone actually tell the difference without putting a caliper on
the
wheelsets [at least when it is on the locomotive on the track]?  Besides, one
the protoype they turn the wheels to true up the profile, so if they are in
service very long, they aren't 42" diameter wheels after a few months of
service anyway.

Just an observation, not an objection to your view of the known universe.

BTW, I got Vol 14 of the RPC, so I will send an updated index with all the
issues in the next few days.
