Hi Michael:
Very nice decals. I am using an oversized HO set that scales out
nearly perfect not microscale. If I remember, I will post the
manufacturer tonight or over the weekend.
FYI, it my understanding that prior to 1946, lettering on SP steam
was "aluminum bronze," a silver color metallic paint.
Thereafter, all freight steam used white lettering and passenger
power
changed to "lettering gray," a light gray color intended to look
essentially like aluminum bronze without the metallic quality.
By the mid 1950's the only steam passenger engines with the lettering
grey were the GS series assigned to passenger trains, not the ones
assigned to freights.
OK, all the SPF's can wake up as we return the list to our normally
scheduled programming . . .
