I sure would concur with Bob.
Digital photography has given us vastly expanded options and allows the
production of some amazing work.

There is still the perception that a "real" photographer uses film, not a
media card, to capture images.

Nothing could be further from the truth.

If my hero, O. Winston Link, were alive and working today, I have no doubt
that he would be shooting digital and producing even more marvelous images.

BTW, to see lots of digital and traditional film images of my feeble
attempts to emulate some of the work of past masters, please visit

BTW, some of those photos are a hybrid of the old and the new: flashbulb
images captured digitally.

Happy New Year to all ;)

Subject: Re: {S-Scale List} darkroom printing and "real" photography

When it comes to Black & White work, yes it holds an honored time
and place in my career and life, but in no way can it match the quality
and tonality of a digital print made on fine art paper.
