Butch & Stan,  At one time Northeastern wood made running boards in 
stripwood lengths--just cut to length.  I'm sure some of the folks on 
this list have a good stash someplace.  I have started to actually use 
just strip wood in shorter lengths.  If you look at a car with wooden 
running boards you will see warping and twists that neither the lazer 
cut nor the Northeastern wood can duplicate.
