A trick I've heard of and used once was to spray the decals with Testor's dull
coat and letting it dry before wetting and separating them from the sheet.

On matters of substance stand like a rock.

Subject: {S-Scale List} rescuing old decals
Has anyone had experience and good luck with rescuing 25+ year old decals
that may have gotten damp somewhere along the way? These would be some decals
in some old Trainstuff kits that were done for Don T. by Herald King. They
look beat up but I am hoping to salvage them.
Does the Microscale Liquid Decal stuff work? I guess the idea is to coat an
old decal and hope that (a) the decal will lift off the backing paper and (b)
the decal will also remain intact and not float off into little bitty pieces.
Thanks and Happy New Year to all.
