Hi Ed, I doubt that the weight of the ballast will have any large
effect on the total module weight. It WILL make a big reduction in the
weight of your wallet though, unless you use bird grit. Pet shop grit
is cheap if you need a small amount. Go to your farm supply store for
even cheaper price if you need a larger quantity. Use your dilute
india ink to "weather" it.
