Hi Roy;

The internet groups do in fact largely fill the role,
at least for those with internet access. I'm not sure
if that is at a level where you write off everyone
else yet (some prominent S Scale builders would be
excluded if the SIGs were solely based on internet
groups).

OTOH, since a couple of clubs at least HAVE taken the
route of providing web-only newsletters, maybe the
time is at hand, particularly if some arraingment can
be made to provide print outs for the non-computer
users. There is certainly still advantage to an
organzied and edited newsletter (see the PRR Keystone
Modeler for a shining example that is superior in
production to most in print hobby journals) over the
semi-random collection of newsgroup postings.
