AM makes dummy scale couplers with a long shank. They were used for one of the AM passenger car types- I forget which. These can be cut off and a new hole drilled to yield any length you want. Mount the couplers to the trucks where a hiraiI coupler would go. I coupled my AM U25B's this way and they work well and look good. Remember to paint them rust color. When's the last time you saw a prototype with black couplers?

The push force will be transmitted by the hand-rail stanchions. I have no answer except to state that if they were mine I think I'd simply draw-bar-connect them. tom Hawley -- Lansing Michigan [Non-text portions of this message have been removed] Yahoo!
