A little news from the Pines and Prairies S Scale Workshop. Last
Thursday's meeting was at Jim Malone's home, he demonstrated his
method of making plaster scenery. We also had two new/old members at
the meeting, Ted Larson who just moved back to Minnesota after 22
years in New York and Bob Christopherson who moved back to Minnesota
after a whole bunch of years all over the place. Walt Jopke has been
working on getting us a convention bid, we sure have a good size
group to get that done.
The PPSSW met at Steve Doyles house a few weeks ago and they were
making Super-trees. I was out of town but Steve told me about it so
that got me interested in trees again. I pulled out a big bag of
Sedum that my niece had picked for me about a year ago and soaked
them all in matt medium/water mix and have started making trees. My
excuse is that I am cleaning up the bag of stuff that was under the
layout. Of course, I had just started three other tasks so I am
staying focused like always.
I think I have worked out a travel schedule that will have me in New
Jersey early June so I am thinking I might just get a chance to see
the folks at the SHS open house. That is always an enjoyable time,
they get such interesting people show up there. Are you makinbg the
trip John?
