Well said.  The last time I looked my pockets were no deeper than anyone 
else's.  I just like working in it.  It may mean that I have fewer models 
than a non-brass modeller but that is a concession that I can live with. 

Also, I don't expect to see any manufacturers in S scale jumping at the 
chance to produce non-brass S scale steam locomotives in kit form or built-
up. 

The last time I tried to solder plastic, I failed miserably;->
