I knew or at least knew of Alex when he was here in Michigan, running the Michigan Northern, a state-subsidized railroad on ex-PRR (ex-ex- Grand Rapids & Indiana RR) track from Comstock Park (near Grand Rapids) to the straits. see http://www.railroadmichigan.com/michigannorthern.html They had some interesting equipment.
