Kudos to Dick Karnes for providing a lot of information seasoned with much
experience.
As Tom Hawley pointed out, SHS does produce flextrack (code 125). Also, I
believe that Tom Stoltz produces a line of turnouts (#4, #6, #8, etc.) that
would be compatible with the SHS products and purportedly will allow the
operation of scale and hirail equipment (SHS, AM specs). We have limited
experience with these turnouts on our modular layout. I would be interested in
learning of such applications in a permanent layout arena.
