Saturday was a good night for the DPV S-Scalers.
Jim K came down from the far north bearing Sharks in a variety of
liveries for a little testing and and DCC experimentation. It was
hard to choose a favorite among the NYC, Pennsy and the D&H. Herb was
leaning heavily towards a pair of D & H A's but Jim only one with him.
With Sam's guidance a NYC A & B soon sported full DCC, lights and
all. They were road tested for accleration, crawl speed and after a
break in they were running like champs.
The Polar Express made it's maiden run behind a Berk, running for
about a half hour and staying on track. A soon as the lettering is
done they'll be ready for a fast Christmas run to Santa's.
Some how the Zephyr snook onto the main sounding different than
before. Des Plaines Hobby had the new Winton download from LokSound.
Sam had spirited the engine over to the shop for a little tune up.
The bell sounds like an old school bell. If you've got a Zephyr take
a look at the LokSound decoder. It's for real.
