If I may, let me add a couple of comments regarding the #6 turnouts.   I 
have had some of mine in place for about 20 years, although many have 
been trashed for various reasons.  I've never noticed any major problems 
with derailments but after a while the built-in contacts won't work.  
Obviously this comes from the ballast and the dirt that will accumulate 
over time,plus possibily some sagging in the plastic.  Many I just tore 
up, as I can build a new turnout in the time it takes to rebuild one.  
Others, I have torn out the plastic drawbar and contacts and replaced 
with circuit board material and wired using the switchmotor contacts.  I 
recently visited Skip Romig's new layout (Dallas area) and he is doing 
that right away to avoid future problems.
