Yes John, the appeal of the open auto carrier for me is that I will be able
to SEE those gorgeous old '57 Chevys, Corvettes, Thunderbirds, Tuckers, and
any other car of the 1930's`1960's that I have on hand. Covered auto
carriers are, well, covered, and therefore have little interest for me. S
folks who model more recent periods may like the covered variety, and more
power to them.

Since I began this search for an open auto carrier car, I have found more
than one railroad that used the NYC style of car that John and I have been
circulating. The UP, ATSF and Milwaukee Road come to mind.

I like anything that runs on rails. Just like some things more than others
:)

Cheers :)

Right you are, Dick. However, an open-side car is what I, personally, am
interested in seeing done, and I think this is the same desire as many
others. So its not necessarily the rack, but the type of car.

I've been wondering if anyone was getting this wrong impression.
