Well, he is one of 745 members of the S Scale list.
Surely you don't require 100% agreement to avoid
discouragement?

 There are probably others who agree, but even then he
didn't say S shouldn't grow, just that if it became
"very popular" it might well change in ways he (and
others) might not like. What is "very popular",
rivaling HO? Not likely to happen. O scale is still
pretty small, but has a good variety that would be
great to see in S. Approaching or rivaling the
availability of product in scale O would definitely be
a wonderful state for S, and would retain the "small
group, not everyone does this" dynamic that is an
appeal of S along with the size.
