I placed a photo in the e-list "photos": section entitled "PBL switchstand."

 

Thanks for the photo, Dick.  I would like to add that NJ International also
has S scale switch stands which are lit and quite nice looking.  Looking at
the NJI web site, I would say they are putting an effort into S.

I bought some Ramapo switch stands from them with the hope of using the
turnout throw to turn the stand.  But I found the throw of the turnout
(.140” for my turnouts) is not enough to rotate the switch stand’s lantern a
full 90°.  The switch stand lever moves about .5625” at its end.  So, it
looks like some sort of linkage is in order.

Has anyone successfully dealt with this?  How are the PBL stands moved?  I’m
looking for ideas…
