I've posted two photos of the AM conversion, done
quite a few years ago and certainly in need of some
updating. It was based on a photo as well as the
mentioned article, probably:

Railroad Model Craftsman, August 1986 page 61
according to the Kalmbach online magazine index.
In addition to moving the trucks out and replacing the
ladders with individual grabs I also made deeper side
sills, the channel end sill, sill and slope sheet
braces, the vertical brake wheel and a KD or "split K"
brake cylinder and tank (by cutting a cast KC brake
into two parts).
