In my humble opinion, any backdrop is better than no backdrop. Having said
that, it's been my experience that a back drop becomes more effective the
higher the layout's viewing height. If a tall layout is not possible, then
it helps if the top of the back drop is as high above viewing eye level as
practical/possible.
