An afterthought, I used to sprinkle groundcover on wet paint but have
concluded the adhesion is too low. So I paint the area, let it dry, paint on
white glue thickly and then sprinkle on ground foam. When that dry's I then
do the wet water and diluted glue routine. Often there's enough glue on the
ground cover that you can sprinkle on a bit of any other colour you would
like to incorporate. In forested areas, I use dry tea leaves from used bags
to look like chunks of wood wastes and general crud. but just about anything
will do.
cheers
