Point well taken, With introduction of Lead in to alloy, it can be less stable. Lead, however, is present in the alloys of Zinc, Pewter, and Brass, to name a few, at different %.
If you have ever done home repair, on soldered jounts, Lead pipes (mostly gone) or copper. Lead solder, does sometimes have a white powder on it from oxidation. Even newer non-lead solder will do it, thats why you are supposed to wipe away extra flux, and wash each joit after solder-ment is complete, a step even many "pro's" skip. However, alloys are still far better, in my OPINION, than any castings done in Resin. The Resin, IN MY EXPERIENCE, I know many lik it.... are more subject to distortion with temp changes, and fall apart much easier, as bonding dis-similar materials is a challange, to find proper adhesives, to do the bonding, and many folks look for a 1 glue doe s it all answer.
