In building tables the Bay Area S Scalers used 16 gauge wire for cab lines and bus lines, as specified in the S-MOD standards. At the 2000 NMRA train show in San Jose we successfully operated DCC on 10 (or 12?) four-foot straight tables, plus four 11-foot diameter corner tables. The total length was about 100 feet, so when the loco was at its farthest point from the throttle the DCC signal traveled 50 feet out and 50 feet back. Mark Gurries, moderator of the NCE Yahoo group, has essays in PDF format on DCC issues, including wiring, at the following link. <http://www.siliconvalleylines.com/dcc/presentations.html> Here, by the way, are my comments that appeared in the November, 2000, BASS "Waybill" newsletter: > TRAIN SHOW > > The NMRA train show is now another successful exhibition to add to > our list of shows. > Congratulations to all!
