Hi Bruce;

The supply is definitely limited compared with HO.

Lindberg did some tanks including a Patton (M-46)
which I think is still available from American Models.
This tank can pass for the M-26 if you aren't a tank
expert, which makes it usable from late 1944 until the
mid 1950's. They also did a Stalin, Centurion and a
Tiger but the chances of actually seeing any of those
on U.S. rails would be VERY slim. The Centurion would
be most likely, if Canadian armored units traveled to
desert training in the U.S. for example.

Corgi has done some trucks and currently M2A4 light
tanks which SHS sells loaded on flats. They have also
done 1/64 Abrams and Humvees if you are interested in
modern military, but good luck on the correct DODX
flats to carry the tanks (Humvees can go on TTX
flats). Some folks have found various Solido trucks
and half tracks work in S, but not all.

Johnny Lightning did the Dodge Ambulance and Command
Car. Their jeep is a bit big, the CCKW trucks are HO
or even smaller. They also had some of their car range
(1940 Ford pickup, 1941 Plymouth woodie) painted in
military colors.

Some of the Hassegawa 1/72 WWII tank models are a bit
large, you might get away with their trucks and the
M4A3E8 Sherman is supposed to be larger than 1/72 and
fits well into late WWII - Korea era.
