Ed and gang,

Take a look at the Oct. issue of RMC, and you'll see
my S Scale kerosene refinery featured.

A year ago RMC ran a cover story about my layout. I
admit my layout is narrow gauge, but it is S Scale,
and except for the gauge of the track, etc, everything
else on the layout would fit just fine on any layout
on this list.

What it comes down to is the quality of scenery,
structures, trains, and really, the entire
presentation. A good layout, well photographed, will
make it into any of the major model railroad
magazines, regardless of scale. In fact, the RMC and
MR editors have told me they wished they got some
decent S Scale photo stories. But, sadly, they rarely
do...

So, as a substitute, they'll accept my meager narrow
gauge layout. What's needed for S to flourish, is an
overall improvement in modeling, scenery, photography,
etc by everyone. Then, once you've raised your
standards,, submit your stories. The magazines will
run them, if they exhibit a high standard, matching
the many good/great HO layouts we constantly see.

My S Scale scenery DVD's will help, which you can
check out at my website -

Now don't go blasting me for this. I just speak the
truth, and from the heart. :-)
