Greetings:
I am building a Jim King Gondola for a buddy and he is one those dinosaurs
that uses the Kadee No. 5 HO style coupler. As those of you who have built
the kit know, the coupler box is set up for a Kadee 802 type of coupler.
Has anyone modified the kit to accept a Kadee No. 5 HO coupler? If so, I
would like to know what you used and how you did the installation. I have
experimented with the Kadee long-shanked HO couplers, but they are still too
short to clear the draft gear box. The perfect world solution would be a
No. 5 style coupler underset on an 802 style shank. However, this is S
scale and nothing is perfect! <VBG>
