Hi Guys,
There was an old PRR story that Lowey approached the PRR and asked
to "design" a locomotive. To which the PRR replied, "We need a new
trash can. See what you can do with that." This always sounded like
the stuff of legend to me, but a few years back the PRRT&HS magazine,
"The Keystone", ran an article on Lowey and the PRR. It included a
listing of contracts let out to Loewy's firm. There it is as item
1. Redesign trash can. So apparently the story has some truth to
it. S scale content? Well you can buy a GG1 in S, and I'd bet you
get an S scale trash can somewhere.
While I have your attention. Saturday Michael Greene sent a note to
the list stating that I won a prize from the Lowell convention. An
hour later I went to the mailbox, and there it was! Snail mail
indeed! Thanks guys.
