KD's "Spring Pic" is a great tool. It has an end that has a "balled" tip
that you shove through the windings towards the end of the spring. Then
you insert the other end over the pin of the truck or coupler and push to
compress the spring poping it over the other pin. Pull the tool out.
I just got finished building 40 pair, yes, that's 80 Northeastern trucks.
I tried the Xacto knife. after losing springs to the carpet i went to the
hobby shop and bought a couple of these pics. They work great.

Hi,

I was removing the AF wheel sets on my SHS 55 ton USRA Two Bay Hopper when
two of the springs fell out. "My, how careless of me." Now I've been
around
a long time, but I'm telling you now, they don't go back in very easily.
Fact is, I gave up!

Anyone know a better way to get those little buggers back in?
Sure would appreciate your help!

My moderately sized layout needs a dusting and cleaning. Medically known
as
a D&C! 8>) The rolling stock also needs spruced up too!

 Any suggestions!
 What do you do?

Bill
