BILL:
Per advice from elsewhere, if you have a Kadee spring pick, you're in the
Land of Cotton. If, however, you don't own one, here's how I replace springs. I
use a tweezers from a Swiss Army knife, compress the spring as much as possible
with the tweezers, insert the bottom of the spring over the bottom nub, and
with left-hand finger over the spring and tweezers, slowly release pressure and
pull the tweezers out. Works for me. Also, the Swiss Army knife tweezers are
about the only tool I've ever found that will adequately grip Grandt Line NBW
castings while installing them.

Hi,

I was removing the AF wheel sets on my SHS 55 ton USRA Two Bay Hopper when two
of the springs fell out. "My, how careless of me."
Now I've been around a long time, but I'm telling you now, they don't go back
in very easily. Fact is, I gave up!

Anyone know a better way to get those little buggers back in?
Sure would appreciate your help!

My moderately sized layout needs a dusting and cleaning. Medically known as a
D&C! 8>)
The rolling stock also needs spruced up too!

Any suggestions!
What do you do?

Bill
