Hi Thorin....If'n you need small radius operation, y'might want to 
examine a product made by Kadee for their HO couplers.  It is 
a "passenger car adaptor" (or something with a similar name) and it 
allows the entire draft gear box to swing sideways on curves.  I think 
it pivots well behind the normal mounting screws and has some sort of 
centering spring arrangement.  Going from memory here (always weak), 
but it might be an interesting way to get that car where you want to
