I may have told you before, but I spent a year in Thailand with the
USAF ('69-70) at Udorn. My main duty each morning was to get the pop for
the coke machines of my Security Police squadron. I drove the truck off
base and to papa-sahn's coke store: ice in sawdust. I ordered coke and
Sprite -- he could not pronounce the SP so it was "Supp-eye" that I learned
to order.
Enjoyed my year's tour over there and got to make a couple trips
with the base chaplains away from the "GI influenced" Thais. I learned a
lot from these ventures -- would like to go back there some day.

With the start of Chinese New Year, things are a bit slower for me as
all of our engineers are now on vacation. This means no painted samples
and no daily e-mails. Next weekend we will be leaving with our eldest
son Benjamin to visit his wife Sprite in Thailand. Robin will be gone
for two weeks.
