What we do have are a lot of older people who really don't have the
knowledge of how to use computers. If you are a senior (over50) and go to
your local senior center, you will fully understand what I just said. This
includes people in their 50's as well, with a college education. When you
make changes and create extra work for them as has been stated by one
already, this is what you may get. Others will no longer respond to
somebodies question because somebody may take issue with them on the list.
Sensitivity is not always a feature on these lists. I know how Bill feels.
As a moderater on the S-Trains list with over 1300 members, when we changed
to this format, members either manually inserted the individuals email
address to reply to them personally or presently are not responding at all
anymore. It is always the same 8 to 15 answering questions now. I am on a
number of Santa lists with triple the number of daily posts than what we
have here and over 50% can be classified as personal. Now, that can be a
real headache and we have the same problem of not changing the subject line.
Never can we satisfy all, all of the time.
Please be kind to your moderaters, they are volunteers.
