Hi Peter,

The Canadian S Scale Workshop uses code 83 on its main and code 70 on its 
sidings.  We try to represent a branchline and the code 83 might be a bit on 
the large size. 

I actually prefer the code 70 because when I measured the rail height in 
Palmerston, Ontario, that is what came closest to the correct height for 
that branchline hub.  

The excellent Tomalco track can have some of its ties taken out to get a 
lesser number of ties per rail length.  

I think that BTS is about to release a PRR consolidation kit in the near 
future depending on how many deposits are sent in.  If that one goes well, I 
am sure that more will follow.
