Before these threads get outta hand, let me set the record straight
regarding my planned offerings.

The Southern 1974 PS waffle box will be first out, probably late August or
September. When it's introduced, the "fully loaded" option will include my
new 100-ton Barber roller bearing trucks with 36" wheels and rotating end
caps (triangular and hex-shaped on the wheel sprue), as will all future
100-ton kits. More truck styles will be offered as time permits. Trucks
will be also be sold separately direct retail only (for those wanting to
upgrade other models) due to the high material cost and a lower retail price
so I can compete with lesser-detailed trucks.

Other waffle boxes being considered are CSX and predecessors within the
Family Lines System. The waffle pattern and ends differed from the SR
version but only slightly and would make great additions for modern
modelers.

The Rock Island 1973 PS car is nearly identical to the SR 1974 car; the only
apparent exception being the waffle pattern. This car was brought to my
attention earlier this week by an interested modeler who has since provided
pix of the car with a request to consider offering it. I think it's also a
good version to produce since only the sides are different and I can use
everything else from the above cars.

It appears there is considerable excitement on this list re: the upcoming
waffle boxes. Watch my web site and the various lists for the "now
available" announcement.
