My first (and only) brass loco was ocassioned by one of my first
expieriences in railroading: A night switch job in a VO1000. Went to the
hobby shop that week and purchased a Hallmark brass VO1000 for the princely
sum of $49.95.
Looked good. Ran like crap.
Sort of sums up the state of affairs for brass back then.
