Yes it is, and for most of us it is pleasant.  Some get the pleasure from 
making and/or owning equipment that accurately reflects the prototype.  Some 
get the pleasure from building and operating realistic model railroads.

And then there are those few who seem to derive their pleasure primarily 
from knowing, and letting you know, that they are "scaler than thou."
