Hi Ed;
Very sorry about your dog; I had to put down my favorite a year ago this month.
I still miss her a lot.
Back on topic, congratulations on reaching a landmark! I don't know of a
commercially available gold spike. I was skimming some old MRs from the sixties
recently and ran into an ad offering them back then, so someone MIGHT still be
around.
I think some folks just take a spike to a local jeweler and ask him to bend one
the same size from gold wire. There is so little gold involved it should cost
too much. You will need to pre-drill the hole to slip the spike in, but the
UP/CP did the same thing (pre-drilling) back in 1869!
The other option is gold paint on a regular spike...
Best wishes;

I'm 18" away from driving the golden spike. We had to put our dog down
because of bone cancer and I couldn't sleep, so I layed all but the
last foot and a half. <SNIP> Do you know anyone who makes scale
golden spikes?
