"After 35 years in the business, I pretty well understand what it takes to make
interesting programs and the costs involved - and they are not inexpensive.
Alan Keller, I suspect, has pretty well streamlined his field production and
editing into a formulaic process, but depends on large sales volumes to offset
costs. I also suspect he's not getting rich on the efforts either. Not sure we
could sustain that in just the "S" world unless we charged a fair amount of
money per disc ($100+???), and to appeal to the larger modeling world we might
need other scales represented on the DVD."
Folk's Allen Keller replied to my email ... He said that it would be possible
to bring him in to do a DVD, but be prepared to pay!

I agree with Allen and Steve, to do something like this professionally, it will
cost plenty and the advantage Allen would have is that he can distribute
commercially, Steve would have to find a way to get it out to the public.

Regardless, I feel that if we were to do this someday, that Steve Doyle [or one
other of our group that is professional] should be our pick, and that only our
very best model S scale railroads should be represented. I also feel we
should review Allen's technique's and format for showing off a model railroad,
so as to use an an example. Definitely, not mine!

"S"incerely,
Bill Fraley
