Well, guess what?  Between Grandt Line and the various Sn3 structures people, 
we have pretty much every plastic and metal window, door, and other structure 
details we'd ever need already.  And I can tell you from personal experience 
that buying these parts separately is a lot more expensive than buying a 
structure kit that includes these components.  For example, I was not happy 
with the 1960s-technology cast-metal windows in my Lehigh Valley Models row 
house kit.  So I ordered replacement windows from Grandt Line.  These windows 
alone cost me about $45!  The original kit doesn't list for more than that.

For me, the bottom line is that a structure kit is a bargain compared to 
purchasing the parts for an equiivalent building.  If you can kit-bash a 
commercial structure into whatever fits your layout's space and theme, go for 
it.

Postscript:  I have submitted a review of Grand River Models' "Greg's Grocery" 
to Model Railroad News for publication.  Maybe this will help Barry remain in S 
scale.
