Yeah, all good points. :)

I can't afford the brass shell kits from (insert name of company I can't
remember here), and the old resin kits are long gone, so I'm scratchbuilding
shells for my electric steeplecabs. Couldn't find a chassis with the right
wheelbase, so I'm modding Athearn HO gauge ones to S gauge. Nobody makes most
prototype electrics, so I plan on buying some of American Models' GG1's and
reworking the shells or the wheelbases to suit. Why complain? Better to ask
"does anyone know if X exists," and work around it if not, than to complain
BECAUSE it doesn't exist. Complaining MIGHT grease the wheels, but I find that
if I really want a resin kit or something prefab, then you know what the best
thing to do is?

I build one myself, because invariably, JUST when I give up looking and
scratchbuild whatever it is I want or kitbash something to suit, THAT is when
some company makes it! ;) I got out of HO gauge because I wanted to do the
M&StL, but NOTHING was available prepainted 15 years ago. Guess what happened
5 years later? M&StL everything all of a sudden. I was already toying with S
gauge by then though, and didn't want to switch back because I was (and still
am) having too much fun!

Now, that said, I think someone mentioned a company that made a resin kit for a
Steeplecab electric locomotive a while back. I've forgotten who, but I'm
trying to track one down. Anyone got one to sell? *half joke - I really am
looking for one* ;)
