Dave,
I've found with few exceptions, over the past ten to fifteen years that
service, stock levels and associate knowledge to be below standard at Radio
Shack in northwest Ohio. Many years ago, RS was a very good place for HAMs to
find the electronic parts they needed. Now, one is taking a chance that they
will have the most basic parts in stock! And if you have any serious technical
questions, forget it! No wonder they are in trouble. Same goes with Sears.

Interesting.
I was just in our local mall Radio Shack store looking for a particular
electronic item for my layout. The clerk (only one on duty) was serving
another customer in what was a lengthy conversation regarding cell phone
service. The clerk never even acknowledged my presence at the counter and
after 10 minutes, I moved on. Maybe problems #3 and #4 are reduced staff and
lack of customer service.
