Dear Bob:
Do I understand that. As a 'youngster', I am now pushing 50. My
arthritis is catching up with me with odd pangs and ouches.
In a few years I will resume having a model railroad. In the
meantime I am now seeking LIGHT WEIGHT, CORDED, SLOW ROTATION power
tools. Something like 100 rpm or less that can drill holes and push
screws. Lots of screws. I never use nails or glue in my layouts -- I
am a 'build it and then immediately rebuild it better, then do it right
the third time' kind of guy. So I use screws.

Thorin, I won't argue with your desire to do everything by hand, with a
slower more quiet lifestyle. However, your desire to save your ears
might cause all kinds of damage other places. I built my layout with
power saws, power drills, but I put most of the screws in by hand.
After twenty years of building the layout and other construction
projects not to mention millions of keyboard strokes, shutter exposures
and hundred of other assorted twists, my wrists don't work like they
should anymore. I wish I would have purchased a nail gun, a chain saw,
electric stapler and everything else 'power' years ago just for around
the house because the wear and tear on the muscles and joints will take
their toll!
