Another words they are sealed and ported to allow just enough air to get to the back of the speaker. The high bass speakers need to have an enclosure made for them to get good sound. The high bass speakers have a lower frequency response around 170 hz. Mostly it depends on your space and application. Let me know if you have any additional questions. What is the difference between the High Bass and Bass reflex design? I did an update on a AM Trainmaster over the weekend. I got rid of the blue LED's, hired a crew and was going to update the speaker but I found I had done too good a job in installing it--it was in there very solidly. With that in mind, I decided I liked the sound just fine. I also am finishing up on a install of my first diesel tsunami. I need to do some tweaking on the CV's but things are going well there so far. It's interesting in that there are a dozen or so horns, but they all seem different than the older DSD units. I found the same to be true of the steam sounds so far--they used to have specific sounds that you bought that particular unit for. Now they install 6-8 whistles but few of the prior sounds seem to be there. Bob Werre BobWphoto.com [Non-text portions of this message have been removed] ------------------------------------ Yahoo!
