-0800Subject: {S-Scale List} BUCKEYE BRASS TRUCKS........(for sale)

Gents....The bottomless cup 'o java is nothing compared to Ed L's S attic
boxes. Just found seven pair of brass buckeye trucks. Some with roller
bearingsand some with friction bearings. Some Overland, some PSC, and some are
SSLS(I think, maybe). No boxes and no labels and so I cannot say for sure
whomade most of them. All are brass, all are sprung and equalized, all
rollsmoothly, some are painted black (not a great paint job, but can
bestripped), some are bare brass beauties. All are assembled and ready to
rollexcept for one pair consisting of only sideframe castings. None show
anyserious signs of wear or tear other than mild tarnish. The largest/longest
pair is in a factory sealed bag from Overland Modelslabeled: "Buckeye 6-wheel
Tender Trucks with 36" Wheels". I assume this isfor their GS-4 Daylight 4-8-4
import of many decades ago. Mint condition.Five other pair are slightly shorter
and one has a simplified machinedbolster without too much detail. Sideframes
look great and who sees thebolster anyway?Lastly, is the set of sideframe
castings by, I think, PSC. Could be wrongregarding the PSC, however. Might be
SSLS.Here is a quote from the SSLS catalog of decades ago pertaining to
theirBuckeye trucks: "BUCKEYE 6 WHEEL TENDER TRUCKS Well detailed, sprung and
equalized. Used33" or 36" wheels. Very smooth operating. Also used on 125 ton
flat anddepressed center flat cars. 4 pairs used on 250 ton depressed center
flatcars. Very nice truck, well detailed." Price from the SSLS Revised Price
List of 1990 is $25.85 per pair lesswheelsets.Regarding the price, I have no
idea what they are worth in today's dollars.I have seen Buckeye trucks go for
$40-$50 on eBay upon rare occasion. Somake me an offer and, if I like it, I
will accept it. One pair or all sevenpair -- makes no difference to me. Highest
acceptable price (plus postage)gets first choice. If'n I don't like yer offer,
I will head on down to thedepot and get on the next train rolling toward eBay.
Fair enough?Specifics here: 1. Mint Overland truck as described above with
friction bearings.2. New sideframe castings only as described above with roller
bearings.3. Painted black with brass cast bolster and friction bearings.4. Same
as #3 above.5. Painted black with machined brass bolster and roller bearings.6.
Bare brass beauty with cast bolster and friction bearings.7. Same as #6
above.Thanks...Ed L.
