Yes, I use a knife blade also but when you are ripping 4 x 8 sheets its quicker
to use a circle saw and/or table saw and do it outside. Also, for slotting to
make curves you get more of a gap with a saw blade. I actually made up a device
where I had a saber saw mounted upsidedown with a heavy foil roaster pan
mounted underneath to catch the "shavings/dust" when slotting or making up
switchblocks. Works pretty good, too. Whatever works! Anyway, homabed is a lot
easier to work with than full thickness homosote.

I have used a knife edge blade in a saber saw to cut homasote with no fuzz
and no cleanup. It works like a hot knife through butter... and don't go too
slow or it will get really hot...
