Jim K:

Thank you for your efforts.

John Bell:

I'm actually interested in building a... ummm... errr...

...(virtual scale)...

...models of them.

Well, I've already Googled and found their website, including the forum.
However, I hesitate to register, then panhandle for some info. Thank you
VERY MUCH for your generous offer. Hopefully, it will come to fruition.

> Do you know who built the engines in question?

Why of course! They were built by Baldwin. Do you need the builder's
numbers? Boiler specs? Tractive effort? <g>

For those of you that may be wondering why all this, I can only say that
there are two REAL railroading interests that I have:

Steam roads and diesel roads. <g>

Seriously...

In the Diesel category, it would be the lines and engines of my youth. (The
basis for my S scale efforts.)

As for steam: About my ONLY interest in standard gauge revolves around the
Missouri & Arkansas. The M&A was first known as the Eureka Springs Rwy, then
the St. Louis & North Arkansas, then the Missouri & North Arkansas, the
Missouri & North Arkansas, and last vestige of it: The Arkansas & Ozarks.
(Which happened to be powered by 2 GE 70 ton diesels.) Those of us that are
"fans" of the M&A et al, simply refer to it as it was known in the region:
The North Arkansas.

I have been highly interested in this line since truly "discovering it" back
in 1976. I have all the books published concerning it. My hard-copy folders
and virtual folders are crammed full with as much info as I can amass about
it. It's a sickness that rears its head often. The interest never
diminishes, it only goes into periods of slumber until some new tidbit is
unearthed.

As for the former AB&C/ACL engines in question, here's some quik links that
depict the North Arkansas 50 Class locos:

And a poor quality pic that is nothing less than dramatic, if not the best
quality.

Thanks for the indulgence, gents.
