I'm guessing the boiler would be likewise longer. That 3/8" would be close enough for some, far enough for others to get their shorts up all in a knot. Still, a 2-10-4 chassis under the AM boiler would be an economical way of getting a 5000 class in S. Years ago Bachmann did it in HO and it didn't look too bad.
