Hello, Ed!

Right you are.  The NYC was a class act.  I had the privilege of riding the 
"Twentieth Century" in 1963.  Of course, that was in the time when coaches were 
added.  I could afford to travel from Chicago to New York because I could 
afford a Slumbercoach room.  I think that the NYC was still using the original 
BUDD Slumbercoaches still then.  I snuck back to the observation lounge.  The 
conductor came in and announced that all "coach" passengers had to leave.  
Well, I stayed, said nothing, and enjoyed the Indiana scenery.  The porter was 
a classy guy who assisted me with getting my suitcase into the small room.  It 
was a ride to remember and not replicable today other than in the memory.

A true NYC enthusiast wears only white silk gloves.  Elegance is the
