I've used wheelsets from an AM freight truck here. It may be
necessary to relieve a small bit off the axle ends (I had to...) in
order for the center wheels to roll freely. It's kind of trial and
error. The wheelset may flop around a little, but I've not
experienced any derailments because of it. Also, see response to Q2
below..

It seem the intention is to melt the studs down with a soldering iron
once the contacts are installed in order to restrain them when the
wheels are removed from the truck. These studs can be melted or cut
down to clear the axle. This combined with relieving the axle ends
allows the wheeset to roll freely.

If the trucks came with the 4-6-2, there should be longer contact
wires in a small package included. If not and the passenger car
contacts fit, there's no reason not to use them.

Possibly. Couldn't tell you without further research...

Question 3?

Partially, its what holds the contact wires in position. The coiled
portion of the contact wired goes over these studs. See Q2.

Most likely extras for the Andrews trucks.
