Last night I attended a monthly 'all scales' train meeting. A modeler
by the name of Barry Bogs (I did his layout G gauge many years ago) has
been involved in building some very nice steam engines (DRG&W) and now
has moved on to diesels. He brought in the patterns for an F unit and
the final power trucks for it. He creates styrene masters, then makes
the molds and then pours the resin copies. He made the complicated nose
of the F by just carving layers of plastic. Sometimes it's nice to see
scratchbuilding in other scales especially one that is normally filled
with RTR stuff.
An interesting note is that he is building copies in two scales that
will run on G gauge track.
